Project Food: Grow
Project Food: Grow is a movement to encourage F&B businesses in Singapore to have a small self-grown section in their establishment to supply a small portion of their vegetable needs.
Background on local produce
Currently, less that 10% of the food in Singapore comes from our local food supply. This causes Singapore to be highly vulnerable to impacts brought about by climate change, disease outbreaks and global food situations. To combat this, in 2019, the Singapore government announced its “30 by 30” strategy to produce 30% of our nutritional needs locally by 2030. So to grow our local food supply, we want to encourage more F&B businesses to utilise local produce.
